Solfest (Solway Festival) Directions

The Solfest site is about half way between Aspatria and Silloth on the B5301.

From the South:

Exit the M6 at junction 41 and travel west on the B5305. After 16 miles, you'll reach a staggered junction at the A595 at which you turn left (Wigton is straight on). After 5 miles (at Mealsgate), take the turning on the right (B5299) to Aspatria. In Aspatria, turn left onto Queen St (A596) then 2nd right (North Rd) then right at the end (Outgang Rd - B5301) for Silloth and the Solfest site.
If you need to stock up at a supermarket, you can go via Wigton. Once in Wigton, turn right for the Market Cross. There, turn right again then left onto Station Rd. Take the first right and right again into the supermarket. You can then get to Aspatria by turning left out of the car park then right down Station Rd to the A596. Go under the bridge, turn left and travel 8 miles to Aspatria.

From the North:

From Carlisle, take the A596 to Aspatria, via Castle Way, Church St and Wigton Rd.
By-pass Carlisle altogether by exiting the M6 at junction 42, taking the 4th exit for Dalston. After 2 miles you'll reach Durdar, where you go straight on at the staggered junction. After another 3 miles, over the bridge turn right for the centre of Dalston (where there's a Co-Op, Butcher, Bakery and Post Office). 50 yards past the Post Office, turn left up Station Rd, over the railway line and continue 2 miles to the A595. Turn left and go 1.5 miles to the Thursby roundabout and take the 3rd exit (A596). After 13 miles, you'll reach Aspatria where you take the 4th right (North Rd) then right at the end (Outgang Rd - B5301) for Silloth and the Solfest site.
